23 Oct Supporting Students with Disabilities

Here at JIBC, we put our students first. As a public post-secondary institution, we have the duty to accommodate and support all students, including those with disabilities. In collaboration with Selkirk College and Camosun College, JIBC has developed 2 open educational resources for all instructors and front-line staff.

The Supporting Students with Disabilities Course provides faculty and staff with practical information and knowledge to better understand how to create an inclusive campus and support all students in their learning and paths to success.

We also created a Supporting Students with Disabilities Resource website to complement the course. The resource site provides just-in-time information on accommodating students with disabilities, as well as links to exciting projects that are happening in BC.

Both resources are licensed under Creative Commons with funding from Ministry of Advanced Education in BC.
