WHY WAS THIS PROJECT NEEDED?

Supports the B.C. Ministry of Advanced Education and Skills Training (AEST) micro-credential framework:

“Micro-credentials recognize stand-alone, short duration learning experiences that are competency-based, align with industry, employer, and community and/or Indigenous community needs and can be assessed and recognized for employment or learning purposes.”

HOW DOES THIS DEMONSTRATE INNOVATION?

Using the RISE platform supports a learning space that is self-directed and self-paced. Using RISE allows students to save their place in the course, so they can take micro-credentials at a time that is convenient for them, within the course open-close periods.

PROBLEMS OR CHALLENGES FACED?

Program recently launched, still enhancing.
