Just what do grades have to do with assessment, teaching and learning?

Few issues in education cause more problems than issues of assessment and evaluation. This workshop provides instructors with tools and concepts to link effective teaching, learning assessment, and grading strategies. Participants will engage in a series of activities and discussions that explore JIBC policy on grading, the role and purpose of assessment and evaluation, common practices, and the implications of various assessment and evaluation approaches. In particular, the workshop will focus on identifying the range of assessment tools and techniques used at JIBC and how these relate to teaching, learning, and grading.
