Faculty Development Event: Evernote

Another great faculty development event was presented by Jessica Motherwell on Thursday June 19th. The subject of this session, which was the first in the series of Absolutely Fabulous apps, was Evernote.

Fifteen participants consisting of JIBC staff and faculty gathered at lunchtime. Participants had the option of borrowing TELT’s loaner iPads to participate in the workshop.

Jessica started the session by highlighting some of the fascinating features of Evernote such as creating an instant blog by using Postach.io.  Next she demonstrated how to create a new notebook as well as editing and deleting notes.

Here are some useful links on creating and editing a note:

Jessica introduced Notebook Stacks as an optional way to organize multiple notebooks followed by Tagging as a way to improve searchability.  You can read more about these options by checking the following link:

Evernote SnapshotKrista Lambert took the following notes during the workshop in an Evernote Notebook Journal. Evernote Notebooks are the first paper notebooks specifically designed for users who would like to create digitized versions of handwritten notes. Evernote’s Document Camera not only captures your physical notes, but optimizes them and seamlessly integrates them with Evernote accounts.
