Move Over “Sage on the Stage” – Faculty Development Event

Have you ever felt chained to the podium and wished for more freedom in your classroom?

Jessica Motherwell McFarlane, Ph.D., an innovative lecturer and digital literacy expert is presenting a series of Lunch and Learn sessions starting with “Move Over Sage on the Stage.”

  • Date: Tuesday May 27, 2014
  • Time: 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
  • Location: JIBC – Room C214
715 McBride Boulevard, New Westminster, BC, Canada, V3L 5T4

Image-3In this workshop Jessica will show how instructors can best take advantage of AppleTV and iPads to increase students’ interest and engagement in the classroom. Bring your paper bag lunches, coffee, and your own iPad if you have one (there will be loaners available if you don’t) and learn how to set up and run Apple TV with iPads. Try out a simple, fun “assignment” using a comic book app and then occupy the podium as you show off your creation. Jessica will finish the session with a group brainstorm about how we can best take advantage of this brave new (Apple TV enhanced) teaching world.
