December is a bit of a wild time. We are looking forward to our winter break, but in the meantime there still seems to be so much to do. At the Centre for Teaching, Learning, and Innovation, we are working on new courses, old courses, and everything in between. We put this issue together thinking thoughts of completion and closure with some much needed renewal around the corner. Students are writing exams, final papers, and trying to wrap everything up, and Instructors are doing a lot of reviewing, grading, and evaluation. And just when that is all done, it’s time to think about next term. 

But before we get there, we want to get you thinking about what we can do to help to wrap up your work for the year. The resources provided here mostly relate to those end-of-term activities and duties.  

At the same time, we are thinking ahead to the new year and future issues, so we invite our readers to become contributors. If you have an idea that fits in with one of our themes or pretty much anything related to teaching and learning, we’d like to hear from you. We are really interested in knowing what’s going on around JIBC, who’s doing what, and finding out what we should all be paying attention to. There is a lot of good work that happens at the institute — great teaching, innovation, exploration — and we want to know about it.  

As this is the final issue of the year, we also want to wish you the best for a great 2022. Finish your work, get some rest, enjoy your time off if you get any, and let’s all meet again in the new year.
