Jen McEachen

Jen McEachen is a part-time student in the Bachelor’s Degree of Emergency/Security Management program. She is severely vision-impaired and hard-of-hearing. This video is a brief demonstration of JAWS for Windows, a screen-reading software for blind and visually-impaired computer users. Jen uses both audio output and connects a refreshable Braille display to read all screen information. Jen will demonstrate challenges with the conversion of PDF to .doc files and navigate successfully to a discussion board in one of her classes on Blackboard using Mozilla Firefox as the preferred browser.
