Workshop: Cultural Diversity in the Classroom

Is your classroom becoming more culturally diverse with students from different countries? Are you teaching overseas or facilitating classes in an intercultural setting? This presentation will introduce you to the basics of intercultural communication by highlighting cultural differences that affect our students’ learning and classroom dynamics.

The goal is to allow you to reflect on your teaching practice and move towards effective strategies to address cultural diversity.

Please join us for this webcast session which will be facilitated by Dr. Robert Aucoin, Educational Consultant and Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University. Robert has over 20 years experience facilitating and teaching in intercultural environments beginning in the late 1980s where he taught math and science in rural Zimbabwe. Since then Robert has developed and facilitated a wide variety of courses and workshops on 4 continents both face to face and at a distance.
