Welcome to L.E.A.R.N.

Built on the idea of a book club, L.E.A.R.N. is intended to bring our JIBC community together to discuss and learn about issues that matter to us. Group members will listen, read, and engage with materials centred around themes before joining in an action-oriented discussion about the topic. Our third theme is Living Indigenization. The group explored Climate Action in February 2024.

We respectfully acknowledge the Justice Institute of British Columbia serves people across the province situated on Traditional, unceded, and Treaty Territories and the many Nations who are represented by the urban Indigenous population in British Columbia. Together we all have a responsibility to affect change and action towards our commitment to Truth & Reconciliation and Equity, Diversity & Inclusion. Through L.E.A.R.N., you can take action right now.

L.E.A.R.N. Listen, Engage, Act, Right Now!

L.E.A.R.N. is hosted in collaboration with Office of Indigenization, Library and CTLI.

Join our online community in Teams where we will share resources and keep the conversation going. Each of the themes will also have a 90-minute live session scheduled at New Westminster campus (participate in person or online).

Estimated time commitment for each topic is between 4 and 6 hours depending on the type and length of the resource. This estimate includes the time to view, read or listen, the live session and online community discussion.
