Developing a resource in Articulate Rise to create a user-friendly one-stop shop for all JIBC students, faculty, and staff. The Writing Centre’s new online resource was created to make it easy for students to quickly access the Writing Centre’s term schedule, services, online writing resources, and contact information in one convenient location.

AUTHORING TOOL(S) USED

Articulate Rise

WHY WAS THIS PROJECT NEEDED?

It allowed the Writing Centre to combine the Writing Skills LibGuide resources with all the current information on Writing Centre services. This creates a more streamlined way of finding and sharing academic writing supports with students, faculty, and staff.

HOW DOES THIS DEMONSTRATE INNOVATION?

It provides a clear and concise solution for students from any JIBC campus or program to access writing support at any time of the term, including if or when the Writing Centre is closed.

PROBLEMS OR CHALLENGES FACED?

The number of JIBC Rise accounts is limited. Therefore, lead Writing Centre staff are unable to make revisions when needed. This adds an extra step of asking a middle person to make edits.

LESSONS LEARNED

It was a great opportunity to review our resources and services. It reinforced the great working relationship that CTLI (Naz) has with different program areas.
