What is a barrier to learning that you have experienced or are aware of that you’d like to see eliminated?

What is something you’ve done in your work (as an instructor, course developer, administrator, etc.) to improve accessibility in your area?

“The JIBC has been phenomenal in making my educational journey a positive experience. The barriers are minimal with the right supports in place. Making adaptations for a person who is blind does not happen overnight. It takes a collaborative effort and a “village” to find alternatives.  Since January 2021, the library service, despite its cumbersome web site, has been instrumental in getting articles to me in an accessible format. To read articles in PDF, the library uses EBSCOHOST that doesn’t always have the option to download the PDF file into my preferred software, “Adobe Acrobat Pro”. When I want to copy/paste direct citation of a source, “Adobe Acrobat Pro” has a feature that allows me to export PDF files to Word. Every single librarian has been helpful in article searches, APA reference checks, and reaching out to outside sources for inter-library loan requests. Achieving goals can be challenging; however, a united team will be able to help me graduate with my bachelor’s degree.”
